Riverstone

Property Focus

You may be wondering where the ‘river’ is in Riverstone – Riverstone is named after a place in Ireland which was the birth place of the first farmer to own land, Lieut-Col Maurice Charles O’Connell ‘Riverston Farm’. The ‘e’ at the end, first appeared in railway timetables in the 1860s, a misprint which became accepted spelling.

Riverstone still has a lot of its’ old charm and friendly country feel to it.  The Riverstone Railway has a lot of history attached to it and still uses the old road crossing and original signal box which was first erected in the 1860s.
